Teaching
Mrs Doubleday is an experienced teacher of the Violin, Viola, Piano and Theory of Music. She has worked with Sheffield, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Birmingham Music Services, as well as teaching privately. Her pupils have achieved excellent results in examinations, have performed as soloists, are members of orchestras and some have gone on to study music at university.
Mrs Doubleday believes in learning through structure, fun and repetition. Lesson time is divided into scales, improvising, games, studies, pieces and aural tests. An organised lesson means that each element improves organically, creating a rounded musician, with a technical ability, an understanding of the instrument and a general musical knowledge. Using musical games, ensemble playing, sight-reading, singing, repetition, improvisation, composition and performing, Mrs Doubleday provides a variety of musical and educational techniques to ensure enjoyment, spontaneity and continuing progress.
Please visit the Doubleday Music YouTube Channel to view videos of both myself and my students performing, as well as to play along to audio recordings of your pieces.
